Policies
At the Inspiring Leadership Conference, we are committed to delivering an outstanding delegate experience while making a meaningful contribution to environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance. We believe that true leadership extends beyond ideas – it is reflected in how we act, the choices we make, and the legacy we leave.
Our ESG policy sets out our commitments across three key areas: Environmental Responsibility, Social Impact, and Governance Practices.
We embed sustainability into every aspect of our planning and delivery, working with trusted local partners who share our values.
• Event Management: We partner with Blackberry Events, a Birmingham-based, ECOsmart-certified event management company committed to responsible operations.• Responsible Venue: Our host venue, Convene Sancroft, St Paul’s, has in-depth ESG and DEI policies with significant evidence of their social and environmental impact and commitment to making events at their venue accessible.• AV & Production: We aim to reduce material waste through digital-first production and exhibition offerings.• Catering: To reduce emissions, we will be using the in-house catering at Convene Sancroft, serving local and/or sustainably sourced fish, meat and produce, and donating leftover food where possible.• Resource Efficiency: We reuse event materials wherever possible – for example, lanyards from past events – to minimise single-use items and waste.
Our responsibility extends beyond the environment. We believe leadership is about contributing positively to society and supporting causes that align with our values.
• Education Sector Support: As a conference created by and for education leaders, we actively support initiatives that strengthen the wider education community.• Living Wage: Blackberry Events are a Living Wage Employer, meaning any staff member working on the production of Inspiring Leadership in Education will be paid the national living wage or over.
Sustainability is a shared responsibility. We encourage all delegates, sponsors, and exhibitors to play their part by making conscious choices.
• Responsible Travel: The move to Central London means there are endless options to access the event in a way that produces less emissions, such as by train, bus, cycle and tube.• Responsible Giveaways: Sponsors and exhibitors are encouraged to reduce wasteful promotional items by embracing the circular economy, opting for digital resources, recyclable materials, or practical and reusable items.• Exhibition Stand Design: Exhibitors are going to be switching to digital light boxes, which means less waste is produced as a result of the exhibition. Carpet is already in place in the exhibition area, again reducing any waste from additional stand dressing items such as carpet.• Reusable Bottles: Delegates and exhibitors are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles to use at the venue’s water stations, reducing single-use plastic and energy use associated with disposable catering items.
We are committed to measuring, reporting, and continuously improving the environmental and social impact of our conference.
Our approach includes:
• Partnering with accredited, certified and local suppliers where possible.• Embedding sustainability criteria into procurement and decision-making.• Measuring the carbon footprint of the event and reducing waste year on year.• Transparently communicating our ESG initiatives to delegates, partners and stakeholders.
The Inspiring Leadership in Education Conference is more than an event – it is a community built on values of integrity, responsibility and leadership, bettering the education of future generations. By embedding ESG principles into our operations, we strive to set a positive example, inspire others and ensure that our events make lasting impact that will ripple through schools and the community long after.
