Achievement Partner, Teach First
Tessa has been the headteacher of three different secondary schools, all of which have been in challenging circumstances. She has led a school in a seaside town, an inner-city school and then supported a school as it moved to join a newly established Multi Academy Trust.
Her three Headships all involved working with disadvantaged children and Tessa has a passion for helping all children to be the best they can possibly be, giving her a very inclusive approach to leadership. Tessa started her teaching career as a teacher of physical education and English and moved on to senior leadership in both pastoral and curriculum responsibility posts.
During her time as a leader in education she has gained her MBA in International Educational Leadership and was also chosen to work with NCSL as a Research Associate travelling to the USA to present her findings at an international conference. Tessa has also undertaken work with the British Council travelling to and working in schools in both Nigeria and Ethiopia.
