As you might imagine over the past few months, we have been very carefully following the development of the COVID-19 virus pandemic to determine what action was necessary in relation to the Inspiring Leadership conference scheduled for 4th and 5th June 2020 at the ICC Birmingham.
We have been in close contact with the NEC Group / ICC Birmingham to explore potential options for cancellation / postponement.
We have taken the decision to postpone the conference to 13 – 15 January 2021.
The new dates offer us the opportunity to open the conference mid-afternoon on the Wednesday and close the conference at lunchtime on the Friday. We are currently looking closely at the programme to explore options.
All existing bookings will be automatically moved to the new dates including any hotel room bookings using the conference booking system.
NB – hotel rooms booked directly with hotels should be cancelled and re-booked.
We are very much looking forward to being able to welcome all school leaders back to the conference and to celebrate with you the amazing work done through 2020 to keep the wheels of education oiled and moving.
In the meantime, please take care, stay safe and look after each other.
‘An evening with’ is a fusion of the formal and informal; an evening that combines a 3 course dinner with wine, entertainment and socialising.
The conference dinner in 2020 will be an evening with a difference. We are delighted to have secured Chris Turner to join us for dinner on Thursday 4th June. With over 20 million views on YouTube Chris is an Edinburgh Fringe favourite who has won multiple awards during 11 years of sell-out shows and is a regular closing act at both the world-famous Comedy Cellar in New York, and the Comedy and Magic Club in Los Angeles.
A British comedian now based in the USA Chris’s freestyle improv rap is something you will most likely not have seen or heard before!

As the recently appointed Chair of the Teaching Schools Council, I am delighted to be able to say that we are supporting the 2019 Inspiring Leadership Conference.
Having been asked as a TSC Rep to attend the 2018 Conference as a delegate, presenter, speaker and showcaser, it was indisputable that the TSC should be involved in such an impactful event.
As a key partner this year we are pleased to be part of the planning group arranging a fantastic line up of speakers, masterclasses and workshop sessions, led by some of the very best thinkers and speakers.
The Inspiring Leadership Conference is renowned for being an excellent opportunity to reflect, meet with your peers and exchange ideas, all highly crucial activities that we so often find ourselves without the time to do.
I look forward to seeing you all there!
Richard Gill, Chair, Teaching Schools Council

We are pleased to announce that Inspiring Leadership Conference 2019 is supported by the Chartered College of Teaching. Here’s what Professor Dame Alison Peacock had to say:
“At the Chartered College of Teaching, we believe expertise in teaching needs to run all the way through the DNA of a school or college. From early career teachers starting their teaching journey right through to school leaders.
We want to see current and future leaders supported to be the best that they can be. For this to happen they need to have the opportunity to build their own knowledge of pedagogy to be in the best possible position to understand what works and to maximise good practice. Not only will this support their own learning but will also benefit their colleagues and the wider profession. We are happy to be a part of the Inspiring Leadership Conference and to play a role in fostering a culture of learning, where the whole profession can engage with the big ideas in education and shape the future of their own profession.”

After four successful years we have reviewed the conference content and format following feedback from delegates.
We have decided to change the conference duration from two half days and one full day to two full days. Moving from two half days and one full day to two full days means less time out of school, making it easier for school leaders to attend. The conference will take place on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th June, 2018 once again at the International Convention Centre Birmingham.
An advisory panel formed of school leaders is leading the development of an engaging, relevant and valuable programme and Jane Creasy will continue to facilitate the conference.
The new Inspiring Leadership website will be launched next week with more information about the conference and sponsorship and exhibition opportunities.
Inspiring Leadership will continue to bring together a blend of world class speakers to share their insights into modern leadership, to challenge, inspire and inform our thinking on leadership and provide you with an informative, inspirational and rewarding conference
Registration for the conference will open on 30 October 2017 with publication of the provisional speaker line up.
